

I follow politics fairly avidly, but rarely comment. What has really upset me, however, (apart from my favoured candidate not winning in my own town) is that only 60 of Canadians eligible to vote did so - quite likely the lowest turn out ever in a Federal elction.
My feeling is that what ever your politics might be, it is not only your right but your duty to make your views known and thus have some say in who governs your country.
The resident teen was subjected to quite a harangue this morning about political responsibility which he took manfully, promising me that he would vote as soon as he was old enough to do so. I suspect that he did so because he has visions of me marching him down to the polling station once he is eighteen.
