I enrolled in a well known online degree program in April of 2007.� My intent was to improve myself as an artist by building more solid foundational skills and to get the degree needed to launch a more successful career.

I chose the school based on the statistics they made available regarding job placement for graduates.

I began experiencing troubles with my wrists in January of 2008. In February, I visited the local Prompt Care office due to a persistent numbness and periodic pain in my hands and forearms.

At this time I was advised to avoid all computer usage and keep my right wrist supported and left wrist immobilized.

I used the website contact form to inform my student adviser of this condition.

After the swelling in the Ulnar nerve had subsided, I was offered the option of taking an F or dropping classes. I chose to drop classes, as it seemed to be the best course of action.

Shortly thereafter, I was notified by telephone by R. R. Informed me that when a student drops a class, they become responsible for the cost of the class because they cannot accept Federal Aid for a class which a student does not complete.

I was sent several bills, ranging from approx. 3,400 to approx. 14,000.

I began to try to contest these charges, as my student adviser gave me no warning or information, written or verbally to this effect.
