Today, like most Mondays has been a game of catch up. I finally have a second to just chill.

This weekend was crazy. I knew it would be, but wow We went to the pumpkin farm on Friday and picked out two pumpkins and some apples. Chris and Carter showed up later and we were so late that all of the activities were closed for the night. Oh well. The kids still had fun and it was probably good we werenapos;t out in the cold for any longer.

Saturday, Emily had to come with us to Virginia, so she was dropped off on my parentsapos; way to a wedding. I tried to get Carter to lay down for a nap, but he didnapos;t sleep at all. Chris came home from his football game and we left for Virginia. We got down there just before the party started. Carter didnapos;t sleep at all on the ride down because Emily was sitting next to him. So, he was having fun playing with all the kids and enjoying apples. Then, when Gabe started opening his presents, around 6:30 or so, Carter crawled up into my lap. He was burning up. I took his temperature there and it was 101.8. I freaked. He hasnapos;t had a fever in a long time. I didnapos;t even know how much Motrin to give him, Susan had to tell me. So, here it was, Carter hadnapos;t had a nap all day, he had a fever and he was falling asleep on me in the middle of all the ruckus that was a three-year-old party. We eventually just packed up and came home. He zoinked out somewhere down the road and went right back to sleep when we got home. As we were driving home, I started calling people to warn them that the party may move to our house tomorrow if he didnapos;t feel better. Then, Chris and I went to work doing a quick cleaning job.

Sunday morning, Carter woke up just as cheery as usual. No fever. He still had a cough and a runny nose, but whatapos;s new? So, we decided to go ahead with the original plans of going to Pizza Johnapos;s. That way, not everyone would be at my house and we actually probably saved some money I tried to get Carter to take a nap, but he was too excited. He did stay in his room from 11:30 until 1pm so at least he rested and wasnapos;t playing a lot. The party was a hit. He didnapos;t eat much, later he was saying his tummy hurt. So maybe heapos;s got some cold thatapos;s messing with his appetite or something.

He got some fun stuff. Plenty of clothes, even though he probably needs some pants instead of all the shirts my mom got him Amanda and Abby gave him some Cars Lego sets that he lit up over. Emily had found a Thomas bookbag at a yardsale for him and he just loved that. Mom got him the new FisherPrice digital camera. We got him a Buzz Lightyear and a baseball "tee" type of thing. He got a movie and several other toys. Not over the top, thankfully But Christmas is coming :)

After the party, Alex, Susan and Gabriel came over to the house with Frank as well. We watched some football while the boys played. Frank stayed after the others left and he watched some of the baseball game with Chris.

So, as usual at this time of the year, I need a weekend of rest after this weekend
