How many different classes of humor are there? Iapos;m certain there are web sites devoted to the topic, but Iapos;m not looking for them right now. I only ask because of that footnote in my previous post.

Iapos;m thinking:

1. pain
2. humiliation
3. absurdity
4. puns/plays on words
5. knock-knock jokes

Iapos;m not at all sure that there are any others, but itapos;s late and I may not be concentrating.

Blond jokes are mostly humiliation jokes. Ethnic jokes are the same, plus pain, sometimes. Knock-knocks may be a sub-group of absurdity jokes. Anyone got a joke that demonstrates a different category?
